First part - Introduction to programming, the importance in education, reasons why those skills are important and how they are related to various subjects for mastering certain skills, topics, knowledge, etc. Second part - Learning through games to master the basic concepts of coding from an early age that will include examples of activities through which children would understand: sequential execution, repetition (concept of cycles), selection (making choices) and the concept of variables.
GORDANA JANAKIEVSKA is an advisor for the subjects in the field of informatics and Head of unit for monitoring and evaluating student’s and teacher’s achievement at the Bureau for development of education, electrical engineer by profession, with more than twenty years of working experience. She is actively involved in projects funded by the EU, USAID and the British Council as an expert and trainer. She is also the implementer of the activities of the eTwinning platform in education for Macedonia. She is a participant in numerous conferences, but also a co-author of manuals for primary education and other professional literature.
SLAVICA KARBEVA STOJKOVIKJ has worked as a teacher and a teacher trainer for the last 15 years, in the area of the innovative usa of technology and coding in primary schools, developing teaching resources in the field of STEM and conducting research on transformative learning with technology, inquiry-based learning and data visualization. She has been recognized by Microsoft Educator Network as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and she participates at Global Microsoft Teachers Forums and Global Learning Connections with classrooms all around the world.
