1. CPD that works

How many times have you had to sit through an hour-long in-service training (INSETT) session only to take one or two useful ideas out of it? By its very nature, the INSETT model of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that assumes a group of teachers with different backgrounds, and experience in the same room at the same time with the same materials at the same pace cannot cater for the diversity of teachers or address the individual learning needs of each teacher.

Silvana Richardson presents evidence-based findings about the features of continuous professional development activities that make a difference, and focuses on two CPD approaches that put teachers in the driving seat of their development
