Learning more about the way UK digital industry works

Manchester and Bristol are two cities know for their vibrant creative and digital industries, which is why we chose them as the next destinations for our project.

While there, participants visited several creative and digital hubs in order to experience different business approaches. They also attended 'Be More Manchester', a creative and digital industry showcase event with high-profile discussions and networking opportunities.

During the visit, they were addressed by the Mayor of Greater Manchester who talked about the creative industries in Manchester and also learned about the Sharp Project – an old electronics warehouse now contributing £32m to the local economy through creative digital business.

Emma Cheshire, CEO of DotForge – a leading tech startup accelerator provider – delivered one of several development workshops, which were designed to increase the capacity of programme participants.

Throughout the visit, one-on-one meetings were organised between the Western Balkans participants and UK small and medium enterprises working across the digital industries. These meetings provided valuable opportunities to develop new partnerships and collaborative projects.
